New Jersey-based Berliner Communications Inc. (BCI) has signed on to help Cox Communications design and build its 3G networks.
Cox plans to launch mobile phone services sometime this year. The company will also resell wireless services from Sprint Nextel. the operator plans to resell wireless Sprint Nextel services.
Cox paid more than $300 million in last year’s FCC spectrum auction. It covers eight states.
A dollar figure for the contract with Berliner was not released. BCI has more than 350 employees.
