Fixed-mobile substitution might be the bane of incumbents these days, but California still loves it some wireline. A new study shows that only one in 10 households has ditched their landline.
Conducted by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to determine how accurate their surveys are if they don’t poll mobile-only users, the report found that Oklahoma and Utah are actually the biggest mobile-only populations, at the rate of one in four households.
Quiet, mountainous Vermont is also OK with the copper status quo, having the lowest rate of cutting the cord at only 5.1 percent of households.
