(NSR) announced at the COMPTEL PLUS Convention & Expo in Dallas that RNK Communications, a leading full-service network communications provider, has selected NeuStar’s SIP-IX service to provide access to local number portability (LNP) information in order to increase efficiency and reduce costs for their PSTN and IP services.
SIP-IX is the first comprehensive suite of services designed to enable efficient IP-to-IP interconnection and peering while laying the foundation for services beyond voice (such as video, instant messaging and presence). SIP-IX enables PSTN and IP services to access port-corrected routing information and extends the reach of these services to other networks in a highly cost-effective manner. SIP-IX is a standards-based service that uses session initiation protocol (SIP), ENUM, and SOAP/XML technologies to enable voice over IP (VoIP) and IP multimedia subsystems (IMS) applications.
