Mobile VoIP provider Jajah, which has expanded its business model beyond basic calling, is being rewarded for its efforts.
The three-year-old company said this week it’s received another $2.8 million in private funding. It’ll use the money to expand its VoIP services.
But Jajah is making sure to do more than just provide Internet phone service. Last year, it landed a contract with Yahoo! Inc.(YHOO) as the phone-to-PC platform for instant message users. And earlier this month, Jajah partnered with click-to-call developer Bravestorm; Jajah now is the company’s underlying IP network for Bravestorm’s customer service department.
Financiers obviously believe in the Jajah model, which bodes well for a company in an industry that has seen too many me-too services bite the dust.
