O1 Communications Inc. has completed several upgrades to increase the reliability and reach of its VoIP network. Installing seven new Lucent/Alcatel LCS switches and three Acme Packet SBCs has increased O1’s network capacity for traffic and PSTN Trunking. O1 expects to double its current half-billion minutes in network traffic to one billion by year’s end.
The recent upgrades are part of a long-term strategy to ensure high service standards for O1’s existing customers and support growth in its carrier and wholesale business.
