Online video is getting juicy. The latest is Hulu.com’s February success: The Web portal had 33 percent more streams and grew viewers by a whopping 42 percent.
Was it the “brain mush” Super Bowl ad with Alec Baldwin that accounted for the jump? It’s unclear, but Hulu rivals largely shrank in usage stats for the month, according to ratings firm comScore. It also said Hulu is now No. 4 in market share, with 333 million streams and 34.7 million viewers.
Still, Hulu has a ways to go to catch the big fish: YouTube had 5.35 billion streams and 99.4 million viewers in February.
