The United States has surpassed the UK when it comes to the amount of Web traffic traversing mobile networks.
That announcement came today from analytics firm Bango. In fact, the United States now accounts for 29 percent of the world’s mobile Web traffic, Bango said.
“With 245 million subscribers, it was only a matter of time before the U.S. became the No. 1 country in the world for mobile Web browsing,” said Anil Malhotra, Bango’s senior vice president of marketing, in a prepared statement. “When it comes to payments though, the U.S. is accelerating faster than any other country and now accounts for 57 percent of payments worldwide.”
