From the "what was somebody thinking?" file comes this: After public outrage from many different directions, Apple pulled the game “Baby Shaker” from its app store this week.
The 99-cent game prompts you to stop a baby from crying by giving your mobile device a good shake. When you’re done shaking it, big red Xs form over the eyes of the infant on the screen.
Groups like the National Center on Shaken Baby Syndrome took Apple to task over it. The game was designed by Sikalosoft, which eliminated the app from its Web site too.
No word from Apple on how many customers actually downloaded the app.
