AT&T Wants to Rule Your World

So you’ve got your nice new AT&T Wireless Netbook and you’re rarin’ to download like a pro.

But wait. Just as with those too-good-to-be-true TV offers, there’s more.

AT&T Wireless early this week changed its service terms. Users must agree not to download movies via P2P file-sharing, or from a fixed location to a mobile device. They also cannot do Web broadcasting or operate servers or telemetry devices from their Netbooks. The potential even is there to restrict customers from streaming content from sites such as YouTube.

And once a user exceeds his or her 5GB limit, hefty overage charges kick in. Ain’t no rollover minutes here, folks.

If we were you, we’d skip the AT&T Netbook altogether and find a better, fairer competitor.
