MySpace Founders Step Down

News Corp. wants to prove money can made be from social networking sites. As part of that strategy, founders Chris DeWolfe and Tom Anderson are stepping down from their posts at MySpace. News Corp. acquired MySpace four years ago and now wants to make big changes that will help bring in the big bucks.

Social networking sites have been all the rage in the last few years, but they haven’t proven to be the money-makers that many hoped they would be.

The founders’ contracts weren’t set to expire until October. Neither MySpace nor News Corp. commented to the Wall Street Journal for its Thursday edition.
