AT&T may be turning to wireless in order to better serve its U-verse TV customers.
A new report says the phone giant will do some field trials using gear from Ruckus Wireless that will deliver HD over WiFi. That could save time off new customer installations that traditionally use coaxial cables.
Up to this point, AT&T believes Ruckus Wireless gear is adequate for a home between 2,500 and 3,000 square feet. The company will know more after the field test.
