Nice, France ― Nokia Siemens Networks is enhancing its NetAct operations support system (OSS) with end-to-end transport and IP management capability. The company says the enhancements transform separate network management systems into a harmonized architecture that will help service providers lower operational costs and improve network quality. The announcement was made at Management World 2009.
NSN says the NetAct upgrades will also enable easy management of applications, such as configuration and point-and-click provisioning, that interact across various transport domains and the whole network – including radio and core networks. The company claims a mid-sized service provider can reduce its transport configuration related annual OPEX by up to 80 percent by harmonizing the transport connectivity management.
The unified and modular architecture of NetAct is based on the Nokia Siemens Networks Open EMS Suite software platform that provides standardized, open interfaces that reduce integration costs.
