Cablevision Corp. has won a lawsuit filed by The Copyright Alliance.
The U.S. Supreme Court this week ruled that Cablevision’s network-based DVR service does not violate federal copyright laws. The Copyright Alliance, appealing the case to the high court, contended otherwise.
Cablevision’s Remote Access DVR service will let users watch their recorded content from anywhere, not just on their home-based set-top boxes. Cablevision will start offering its new DVR product this year.
