Five months after losing a patent infringement lawsuit filed against Limelight Networks Inc. (LLNW), Level 3 Communications Inc. (LVLT) has been denied a re-trial.
A district judge on Tuesday rejected Level 3’s request that the jury’s verdict be thrown out and a new trial held.
In January, a jury ruled that Limelight Networks did not infringe on Level 3’s content delivery network, or CDN, patents. The companies compete in the CDN field, which consists of speeding Web video delivery.
