Connecticut’s attorney general is asking for an investigation of an exclusive carriage agreement that MSNBC has forged with Cablevision, saying it might be illegal.
Richard Blumenthal’s letter to the FCC says the deal unfairly blocks AT&T’s U-verse from competing with Cablevision. He wants the FCC to ban all agreements like this one.
Cablevision says it’s well within its rights and says exclusive agreements can actually lead to better consumer value.
