There’s another player in the $50, unlimited prepaid wireless game.
PlatinumTel today announced a new $50 plan, available immediately, which the company says is designed for consumers who don’t want to overpay for wireless or be bound by multi-year contracts. The new PlatinumTel Unlimited Plan offers unlimited nationwide talk, text, free long-distance and 100 megabytes of 3G web service.
PlatinumTel says its network is national and reaches 280 million people. The company claims its unlimited plan is better than many competitors who either charge more for the same service and/or don’t include Web service, roaming, and other desirable options.
