Wisconsin-based TDS Telecommunications Corp. is buying privately held Union Telephone Co. in Farmington, N.H.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed; the transaction is set to close in 2009’s fourth quarter.
The merger brings to seven the number of phone companies TDS now operates in New Hampshire.
“We look forward to being the preferred broadband provider in the community,” said David Wittwer, president and CEO of TDS Telecommunications, in a prepared statement.
