Opening to mixed reviews and so-so sales numbers – depending on what you expected from the Pre – Palm is ready to pull the wraps off of the new Pixi in time for the holidays.
The Pixi is a smartphone that you might describe as the Pre’s little brother. It’s not as heavy, and it features a slimmer design. You’ll get a full QWERTY keyboard and a lot of options to help stay connected to the Web, including the ability to integrate social networking into the phone.
Other specs include:
- GPS
- 2.63-inch multi touchscreen
- 8GB of storage
- 2 megapixel camera with LED flash
- Bluetooth capability
The first mention of this phone was last spring, when it was being called the Palm Eos in the blogosphere. Those same reports had it going to AT&T. There’s no official word on a price, but it’s expected to go for about $99 after rebates.
