Despite all of the bad press surrounding its ongoing bankruptcy proceedings, the reputation of Nortel products doesn’t seem to be taking a hit. A new Infonetics research report names Nortel as the top vendor in the 40G/100G optical market.
The survey asked service providers open-ended questions about which company’s products they prefer. Alcatel-Lucent was seen as too high-priced. The biggest surprise was probably Huawei, which did well, considering most of the service providers polled were in North America and EMEA, where Huawei doesn’t have a large presence.
But overall, Nortel was the leader in the survey.
