AT&T has reached a milestone with it’s U-verse TV service.

The company signed up IPTV subscriber number 2 million this week and debuted 24Mbps downstream, which is AT&T’s fastest high-speed Internet service ever. It’s part of a package called High Speed Internet Max Turbo, available in some areas for $65 per month in a bundle with TV. That’s for residential customers. It’ll set business customers back $95 per month.

The new services might be critical for AT&T, which is seeing its landline telephony base erode – 800,000 in the third quarter alone. The good news for the company is that a majority of new U-verse TV customers are bundling their services with DSL, voice or both. And AT&T’s going after them aggressively this holiday season by offering up to $400 in prepaid gift cards to people who sign up for U-verse triple plays online by the end of the year.

There’s plenty of room for growth. About 15 million homes in 22 states have access to U-verse if they should choose to sign up.
