XO Goes International with Wholesale Referral Program

XO Communications has launched the International Customer Referral Program to further strengthen its position within the international carrier community. The program allows overseas telecommunications companies to contract with XO to provide their carrier customers with access to XO’s carrier services solutions in the United States.

Recently, XO secured its first international customer referral agreement with CAST International Ltd., an international business consulting firm based in Hong Kong.

This new program builds on XO’s other recent expansions. Within the past three months, XO has announced increased connectivity to Latin America via a new gateway on the U.S.-Mexico border and has partnered with Hibernia Atlantic to expand its IP network in Europe.

Through the customer referral program, international carrier customers will gain easier access to XO’s high-speed, high-capacity IP-based transport and networking services, such as MPLS IP-VPN. These services are provisioned over XO’s more than 19,000 route-mile U.S. metro network, which reaches more than 50 percent of businesses.

“XO is aggressively seeking to expand its presence in Asia, Europe and South and Central America,” said Ernie Ortega, president of XO Carrier Services. “Our International Customer Referral Program allows us easier access to overseas telecom companies, thereby expanding international awareness of XO services. Conversely, our referral customers will enjoy access to the robust XO product portfolio of U.S. network service offerings that they can now seamlessly provide to their customers.”

For CAST, electing to participate in the International Customer Referral Program was an easy decision, as the company has successfully collaborated with XO in the past.
