Five-year-old wholesale services provider Mammoth Networks said Wednesday it now has more than 21,000 DSLs on its network and supports more than 160 service providers throughout the United States.

That means rural operators needing connectivity options have them. Mammoth serves 14 Western states with its Layer 2 DSL network – which works with Qwest Communications International Inc.’s infrastructure to reach multiple remote DSLAMs, rather than just one – and the lower 48 states with its private-line products.

Mammoth aggregates data services from several carriers so it can offer what it calls full-service network connectivity and outsourcing. Mammoth runs its own MUX, DACs, switches and routers.

Mammoth recently lit fiber in Denver so its wholesale customers can access rural communities in the Rocky Mountains at fair prices.
