VoIP technology and voice network product provider AudioCodes has expanded its VMAS family of mobile VoIP solutions. The Israel-based company has added  Blackberry and Android clients.

AudioCodes Mobile VoIP Solutions allow service providers to offer new, value-added services with the goal of increasing revenue while allowing end-users to make low-cost calls at significantly improved voice quality. Auduicodes says VMAS now offers carriers a complete solution covering all leading mobile operating systems such as Symbian, Windows Mobile, Apple iOS, Blackberry OS and Android, as well as its existing solutions for the PC and Web.

"The growth of Mobile VoIP can be seen as a serious challenge to service providers, but VMAS offers the ability to ride this wave and actually increase revenues," said Lior Aldema, COO at AudioCodes.

For service providers, Audiocodes says VMAS offers an opportunity to open new revenue streams, expand their existing Voice over Broadband offering to mobile handsets and reduce churn. By evolving into Mobile IP Providers, they can increase their network with roaming users using public Wi-Fi networks and saving international termination costs. VMAS offers Service Providers flexible branding options, efficient distribution and is widely interoperable with leading SIP softswitches and gateways, easing network deployment.

At the same time, VMAS allows end-users to enjoy the benefits of HD voice quality with a simple and intuitive UI that comes complete with SMS capabilities, presence, and call log information. The mobile client utilizes the user's existing address book allowing for convenient use of their stored information with their phones standard interface.
