As AT&T gears up to launch its 4G LTE network in select markets, a natural question arises: Which handsets will support the network with blazing speeds?
So far, the carrier has only said that you'll probably see one LTE smartphone by year's end, but Engadget says it has confirmed that the HTC Holiday will be among the operator’s first.
The smartphone will run on Android 2.3.4 (Gingerbread) and features a 4.5-inch qHD touchpanel, 1.2 GHz dual-core processor, 16GB of memory, 8 megapixel rear camera with flash and 1.3 megapixel front-facing shooter, according to the report.
About a week ago, AT&T began selling the USBConnect Momentum 4G – a USB 4G device – and the Mobile Hotspot Elevate 4G, which is a mobile hotspot device.
Dallas-based AT&T, the second-largest U.S. wireless provider, is expected to soon roll out 4G mobile service in Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Houston and San Antonio, representing the first markets where its high-speed LTE network will be activated. The telecommunications giant plans to offer 4G LTE in at least 15 markets by the end of the year, covering 70 million Americans.
