Huawei Device Co. Ltd. reportedly has introduced its first mobile phone that offers cloud-based services.
Huawei Device – a branch of Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd., the Chinese-based telecom equipment giant – launched a 3.7-inch touch screen handset that runs on the Android 2.3 operating system and is called “Vision", China.org.cn reported.
The cloud platform reportedly reserves 160 gigabytes of storage for every Huawei cloud phone user.
Huawei said the cloud-based smartphone will be released in China as soon as September, but the company declined to reveal the price, the website said.
Huawei’s cloud service is said to resemble Apple’s iCloud for iPhone users.
Coming this fall, Apple’s iCloud stores such content as applications, music and photos, allowing users to access their content anywhere from such devices as their iPhone, iPad and personal computer.
Some other perks include 5 GB of free storage and the convenience of being able to automatically keep contacts, email and calendars up-to-date across all devices.
