Facebook will introduce is iPad application at Apple’s iPhone5 debut event on Oct. 4, according to a report.
The social networking site also is expected to release a revamped version of its iPhone app and may introduce an HTML-based mobile app marketplace, Mashable reported.
The iPad app is said to feature a slick design that has been customized for the iPad and its toushscreen interface, and Facebook developers and designers have reportedly overhauled the Facebook Chat and Facebook Groups features for the app.
The app is a long time coming. Back in June, the New York Times reported that Facebook planned to introduce an app for Apple’s iPad in the coming weeks after it had been in production for nearly one year. Sources told Mashable that the delay in rolling out the application has reflected a combination of timing and a strained relationship with Apple. But the report claims the relationship between the two tech titans has been warming up.
