IBC – KIT digital, a provider of end-to-end video management software and related services, on Friday introduced its new video asset management system at the IBC 2011 conference in The Netherlands.
The KIT Video Platform is available in two editions – KIT Cloud and KIT Cosmos – to address various businesses ranging from enterprises that are implementing internal video systems to pay TV operators that are rolling out content on multiple screens like a smartphone and tablet computer.
“Today’s platform release is the most significant in the company's history and marks the culmination of over a year of internal development and innovation, as well as the integration of ‘best-of-breed’ elements from recently acquired industry-leading platform technologies," KIT digital COO Alex Blum said in a statement. “The KIT Video Platform further positions our company as a driving force in the global transformation to multiscreen broadband TV for tier-one customers."
KIT digital, which is based in Prague, Czech Republic, said the platform enables customers to do such things as grow audiences securely and effectively with linear, live and VOD programming, deliver on-demand broadband TV across a wide array of devices, monetize video assets with flexible advertising, pay-per-view and subscription-based models, and easily develop custom video applications and players that are built for delivery to any screen. The company also noted the solution features the following: KIT Social TV, which enables a smartphone or tablet to be used as a remote control and program guide, as well as an interactive device that delivers personalized information about the content being watched and involvement from other viewers; and KIT Connected Device Framework, a software development kit to help enterprises simply the process of delivering socially-enabled video apps across multiple Internet-connected devices.
The company is making it easier for “broadcasters or anyone in the video publishing business to deliver consistent high-quality experiences across multiple connected devices and platforms," said Gannon Hall, KIT digital's executive vice president of marketing, in a telephone interview.
“We are looking to enable operators and service providers to create an integrated experience with a high quality of service," Hall added.
