The next-generation iPhone won’t be a force to be reckoned with in Korea if Apple rival Samsung Electronics has its way.

In a further reminder of the patent war that the two tech titans are fighting around the world, Samsung is seeking a complete ban on the upcoming iPhone 5 in Korea, the Korea Times reported.

“Just after the arrival of the iPhone 5 here, Samsung plans to take Apple to court here for its violation of Samsung’s wireless technology related patents," a senior executive with Samsung told the newspaper.

Cupertino, Calif.-based Apple and Seoul, Korea-based Samsung are opponents in patent litigation in several countries. Earlier this month, Reuters reported that Apple had sued Samsung in Japan, seeking to ban sales of certain devices.
