IBC — Earlier this summer, British Sky Broadcasting launched Sky Go, a TV service for multiple devices like laptops, PCs and iPhones.

On Wednesday, KIT digital Inc. announced that British Sky Broadcasting (Sky) had selected it to support and manage its Sky Go service. British Sky Broadcasting actually picked ioko, which was acquired earlier this year by KIT digital, a Prague-based provider of end-to-end video management software and services. Sky and ioko have a long-standing relationship. Six years ago, ioko helped develop, build and manage the Sky Player Platform, Sky’s over-the-top TV platform in Europe.

The new offering combines Sky’s online television service and mobile TV service into one offering, providing subscribers access to programs on up to two registered devices, including the iPhone, iPad, PC, Mac and Xbox 360.

“With this new service, Sky is enabling its customers to access content delivered whenever and wherever required through a simple to use and cost-effective service," said Frederick Garnier, KIT digital’s Vice President of Strategic Accounts, EMEA.
