Apple has made the next version of its beloved iPhone available for pre-orders in several more countries around the world, according to a report.
Online Apple stores have begun taking pre-orders for the iPhone 4S in 22 additional countries, Mashable reported, including the following: Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Mexico, Netherlands, Norway, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland.
Cupertino, Calif.-based Apple began selling the iPhone 4S last Friday in the U.S., Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Japan and the United Kingdom. If initial figures are any indication, Apple’s newest smartphone could be an international sales sensation: Apple revealed on Monday that it sold more than 4 million iPhone 4S smartphones in just three days.
In Apple’s most recent fiscal quarter ending Sept. 24, international sales represented 63 percent of its revenues ($28.27 billion).
The iPhone 4S will be available in 22 more countries by Oct. 28 and distributed to more than 70 countries by the end of the year, according to Apple.
