Laptop Customers Lead Video Consumption

Consumers with laptops lead the pack when it comes to watching video.

Bytemobile’s latest Mobile Analytics Report finds that 17 percent of laptop customers consume video content on an average day.

That’s more than the percentage of iPhone customers (11 percent) and Android subscribers (7 percent) who watch video daily.

Video is certainly a bandwidth hog on mobile networks. Bytemobile found that video content represents 40 to 60 percent of total data traffic on wireless networks. Meantime, consumers are yearning for higher-quality videos, according to Bytemobile.

“Subscriber demand for video content remains the key driver of the network bandwidth challenge," Bytemobile said.
