T-Mobile USA on Monday announced plans to sell a 4G prepaid service plan at Walmart.

Costing $30 for unlimited Web and text monthly, the plan will be sold at Walmart’s roughly 2,200 stores and online at www.walmart.com and www.T-Mobile.com.

Bellevue, Wash.-based T-Mobile said the plan is expected to be introduced on Oct. 16.

Under the prepaid plan, customers receive the first 5 GB at up to 4G speeds, unlimited text and 100 minutes of talk time, with voice costing 10 cents per minute after the first 100 minutes. T-Mobile cautioned that its HSPA+ 4G network is not available everywhere and that speeds slow to 2G speeds for the remainder of the month after customers use their high-speed allotment.

“T-Mobile is thrilled to offer this exclusive, affordable service plan, designed specifically with heavy text and data users in mind, to meet the demand for prepaid, which is expected to double by 2015," said Amy McCune, T-Mobile USA’s vice president of national retail, in a statement.
