Verizon Wireless on Monday announced that its fourth-generation LTE network will be available in 178 markets by Nov. 17.
The company plans to activate its network in 22 new cities on Oct. 20 while expanding its infrastructure in four cities at the same time: Los Angeles and San Diego; Washington, D.C., and Erie, Pa.
Some cities that will receive Verizon Wireless’ 4G coverage for the first time later this month include Birmingham, Ala.; Stockton, Calif.; Fort Myers, Fla.; Albuquerque, N.M.; Richmond, Va.; and Green Bay, Wis.
On Nov. 17, the mobile operator will activate its 4G network in 13 additional cities, including Little Rock, Ark., Savanna, Ga. and Des Moines, Iowa, just to name a few. Verizon Wireless also plans to expand its network in five other cities: Louisville, Ky.; Grand Rapids, Mich.; Minneapolis/St. Paul; Pittsburgh, Pa.; and Nashville; Tenn.
Verizon Wireless, the largest U.S. wireless operator with 106.3 million connections based on second-quarter results, launched its 4G LTE network just 10 months ago.
