Verizon Wireless has made some changes to its privacy policy and began notifying its customers on Friday, according to a report.

The largest U.S. wireless provider will share the URL of websites subscribers visit, the location of their devices and application and device feature usage, BGR reported. Verizon Wireless also will share information on data and calling features as well as demographic info in order for the wireless giant and outside parties to create reports and target advertisements more efficiently, according to the article.

On its website, Verizon Wireless says it uses personal information about subscribers for a variety of purposes ranging from maintaining customer accounts and billing records to better directing specific offers or promotions to customers to use for business and marketing purposes by third parties. But the Basking Ridge, N.J.-based company explains that information such as geographic and demographic data provided to third-party advertisers does not identify subscribers individually.

Customers can learn more about Verizon’s privacy policies and ways to limit the sharing and use of their information here. If customers have questions, concerns or suggestions related to the company’s privacy policies, they also can email Verizon at privacyoffice@verizon.com or contact the following: Verizon Privacy Office; 1320 North Courthouse Road; 9th Floor; Arlington, VA 22201; Fax: 703-351-3669.
