Forget about the iPhone 4S for a moment.
Another highly anticipated smartphone is about to hit the U.S. market: the Samsung Galaxy Nexus.
Google and Samsung are widely expected to unveil the gadget Tuesday. It features Android’s 4.0 platform dubbed Ice Cream Sandwich, 1GB of RAM, 32 GB of built-in storage and two cameras: a 1.3-megapixel shooter in the front and a 5-megapixel camera on the back, according to BGR.
The gadget – codenamed Nexus Prime – also will reportedly support LTE and HSPA wireless networks.
But the report indicates that Verizon Wireless will exclusively carry the device in the United States. A spokesperson for Verizon Wireless – the largest U.S. wireless operator – said the company doesn't comment on phones or devices that haven't been announced.
Eric Schmidt, chairman of Google, revealed recently that Ice Cream Sandwich – a platform that is said to combine the most recent updates for smartphones and tablets into a cohesive operating system – will be on the menu in October or November. So it won't be a shocker if the big announcement comes next week as predicted.
