Sprint on Monday introduced new mobile broadband plans that the company asserts distinguish it from its larger rivals.
The mobile operator is offering 6 gigabytes of on-network 3G/4G usage for $49.99 per month or 12 GB of usage for $79.99 per month. Overland Park, Kan.-based Sprint claims those packages are a better deal than packages offered by its competitors, AT&T and Verizon Wireless.
Sprint said the data packages are compatible with all mobile broadband devices it sells, including tablets, dedicated mobile hotspot devices, USB modems, netbooks and notebooks. The packages don't affect Sprint's unlimited data plan for smartphones.
The company also has launched a new plan available for tablets and dedicated mobile hotspot devices that costs $34.99 per month for 3 GB of data usage; in addition, Sprint has introduced a new plan for tablets priced at $19.99 per month for 1 GB of usage.
Sprint, the third-largest U.S. wireless provider based on customers, said the new plans replace all previous mobile broadband plans. The new packages are available to new and current customers.
