Verizon has a TV-related offer for Microsoft Xbox Live Gold members.

The New York-based telecommunications titan is introducing a service that will allow Xbox Live Gold members who subscribe to Verizon's FiOS TV and FiOS Internet to use their gaming consoles to watch select FiOS television channels. Another perk: Kinect for Xbox 360 will enable customers to use voice and gesture commands to control their TV experience, wrote Verizon's media relations manager Heather Wilner in a blog Tuesday.

Verizon is launching the service with 26 TV channels.

Customers can order the service now; however, the FiOS TV app won't be available to download until December.

Verizon is offering a special deal to new customers through Jan. 21: If you sign up online and subscribe to the company's triple-play package of FiOS TV, Internet and voice starting at $89.99, Verizon will throw in a 12-month Xbox Live Gold Membership and the "Xbox Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary" game.

Last month Microsoft announced plans to offer TV programming on Xbox Live in the United States and abroad through nearly 40 entertainment and TV providers, including Comcast and Verizon. The Redmond, Wash.-based software giant plans to roll out entertainment services to its Xbox 360 console over the holidays in more than 20 countries. Microsoft previously has reported that Xbox Live already serves 35 million members around the world, and its new relationships with the likes of Verizon, Bravo and HBO Go promise to significantly increase that figure.
