CenturyLink recently announced that it's added new features to its Internet Protocol television service by using Microsoft Mediaroom TV technology.

The company's Prism TV customers can now pause live television from any room in the house using a DVR service and rewind and fast-forward content up to the live broadcast point. Users also can flip through the last five channels they were watching and add the channel they're viewing to their "Favorites" list.

CenturyLink said Mediaroom will soon support more apps, including access to programming and content online, such social media sites as Facebook, an improved on-demand library and additional HD channels.

The telecommunications company offers its Prism TV service in eight markets: La Cross, Wisc.; Columbia and Jefferson City, Mo.; Orlando, Tallahassee and southwest Florida; Las Vegas; and central North Carolina.
