Smartphones keep getting more powerful and more dynamic.
Take the LG Spectrum, for example, which is reportedly set to debut on the Verizon Wireless network later this month. It's said to pack a punch with a 1.5GHz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM and a 4.5-inch HD display, according to Droid Life sources. Look for it on Jan. 19, the tech site says.
Content will be king with the new device, as the Spectrum will reportedly come pre-installed with Netflix HD, something that can only currently be found on the Motorola RAZR. Sports lovers also get exclusive HD content on ESPN Scorecenter. Some cool HD video editing tools are also on tap.
Although no official announcement has come from Verizon Wireless or LG just yet, also look for a pair of cameras, 4GB of onboard storage and a 16GB micro SD card. It runs Android 2.3 – but let's hope that an upgrade to Ice Cream Sandwich is in the offing. Don't be surprised to hear more about this one at next week's Consumer Electronics Show.
