Are You Ready for Google's Web Eyewear?

Google is reportedly developing 21st century glasses that will show you the Web.

The eyewear will feature a small screen that will sit merely a few inches from the eye, as well as a high-speed data connection and a special navigation system, reported The New York Times

Several Google employees familiar with the project told the Times that the glasses are expected to cost about the same price as a smartphone and will go on sale by the end of the year.

Late last year, 9to5 Google wrote that Google was developing glasses that resembled thick-rimmed eyewear. In a post earlier this month, the website was tipped off that the glasses resembled a pair of Oakley Thumps and incorporate a front-facing camera that is used to gather information and can take pictures.

The Android-based glasses aren't meant to be worn all the time, the Times said.

That's nice to hear considering that most human beings still prefer to interact with the real world, at least occasionally.
