AT&T yesterday began selling the Galaxy Note at its retail stores. Samsung's device is a mix between a smartphone and tablet computer, and it can be used over AT&T's 4G LTE network.

Priced at $299.99 with a new two-year contract, the Android-powered Galaxy Note features a whopping 5.3-inch screen and a tool that allows users to sketch drawings, jot down notes, or write emails and texts. The gadget is available in carbon blue or ceramic white.

AT&T last month referred to the Galaxy Note as a "dream device," yet the jury is still out as to whether consumers feel the same way.

"It feels like a cross between a cell phone and a tablet because of its size," one person told a CNET reporter in a video, although that same individual indicated the Galaxy Note was too big after trying to place it in one of his jean pockets.

Samsung is expected to debut the Galaxy Note 10.1 at Mobile World Congress later this month in Barcelona, Spain.
