Owners of Apple's iPad use their tablet computer for a myriad of purposes ranging from watching movies to sending email to creating documents.

The problem is that overuse of the world's most popular tablet computer can result in injuries, as chronicled in an article from the Daily Mail, a U.K. newspaper.

Experts in body posture have identified numerous risk factors in using Apple's small computers, the newspaper reported, and iPad users have begun to complain of various ailments.

"Whenever I use my iPad for long stretches, my left shoulder and neck become so painful I cannot sleep at night and I can barely use one arm," the report quoted one iPad user as reporting.

A doctor in Michigan warned of the risks when using a tablet computer like the iPad for long stretches of time, but he said users can take measures to minimize injuries.

"Prolonged use of tablet computers can cause different forms of repetitive strain injuries to the fingers and hands," the Daily Mail quoted Dr. John Pappas, medical director at the Beaumont Center for Pain Medicine, as stating. "Good posture and frequent, short breaks can help minimize these symptoms."
